Bohemian Nights At NewWestFest
This free, three-day music festival always features an impressive lineup of local and national musicians across six stages. This year’s’ headliners include Blondie and The Decemberists, and previous headliners of the last few years have been CAKE and The Fray. While most FoCo events have a musical element, Bohemian Nights is truly dedicated to showcasing new and well-known artists and shuts down almost all of Downtown in the process.
Taste Of Fort Collins
Fort Collins is known for its local eats and food trucks, and the Taste Of Fort Collins festival is the place to celebrate the unique cuisine our town has to offer. Typically occurring in early June each year, you’ll have to wait until next year for the 23rd annual event. While it will be a while before we know the food trucks, local restaurants, and musicians that will make an appearance, it is sure to be a hoot! Though, regular attendees will tell you nothing can beat the 2015 Taste Of Fort Collins event, when an enthusiastic local bakery handed out hundreds of free loaves of bread to festival goers. These loaves ended up being thrown on stage while the band Smash Mouth was performing, leading to a profanity-laden tirade by the lead singer and a promise to never return to Fort Collins again!
The New Belgium Tour De Fat
For the last 18 years, the annual Tour De Fat bicycle and beer festival has captured the hearts of New Belgium fans across the country. This year, the festival will be hitting six cities and wrapping up in Fort Collins. While Fort Collins has a lot of beer-based events, this one might take the cake as it combines one the town’s biggest small breweries with a bicycle parade where riders dress up in their craziest costumes. You won’t want to miss this one happening on September 1 at New Belgium.
Tour De Corgi
Sure, craft beer is good — but have you ever seen a corgi dressed up like Amelia Earhart? September 29, 2018 will mark the 4th annual Tour De Corgi, an event where corgis and their owners come from all over the state to parade their pups around in crazy costumes. This program benefits 4 Paws Pet Pantry, which provides pet food to low-income families to help keep their pets out of shelters, as well as the Wyoming Dachshund And Corgi Rescue. Plus, if you’re a corgi owner and wanting to participate, you’ll be happy to know our apartments are pet-friendly!
Colorado Brewer’s Festival
Fort Collins is known for our craft beer, so you can imagine that a craft beer festival is one of the biggest attractions of the summer. The 2018 event already took place in late June of this year, so you’ll have to wait until next year to experience all the boozy brews that Fort Collins has to offer. This year featured over 150 local beers from over 40 breweries! 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of this festival, and it is sure to be a big deal.
For quite some time, the Fort Collins Peach Festival has called Hughes Stadium, former home of the CSU Rams, ‘home.’ However, because the stadium was torn down recently, this year’s Peach Fest will be held in Downtown Fort Collins. This festival is centered around delicious peaches grown in Pali31sade, CO. With just a $5 entrance fee, as well as kids 15 and under getting in free, this is an event the whole family can enjoy. Don’t miss out on the food trucks, local vendors, and peach margaritas!
