Fall is a beautiful time in and around Fort Collins, and for residents living in our apartment complex, it is the perfect time to get out for the day and enjoy all that Northern Colorado has to offer. That’s why in today’s blog, we’re offering up a few fun ways to spend an afternoon celebrating fall in Fort Collins! Keep reading to get some fun ideas, and as always, if you’re looking for an apartment in Fort Collins that can be your home base while exploring our beautiful state, we’ve got you covered!
See The Fall Colors
There’s still some time to see some gorgeous fall foliage this year! Right here in town, the Colorado State University Oval boasts some beautiful gold colors during fall, and you can watch the aspens turn if you take a day trip to the mountains. The mountains in Colorado have a host of aspen groves just waiting to be photographed!
Hit Up A Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patches make for a fun fall afternoon whether you have children or not. Grab your favorite seasonal drink from Starbucks and head to a nearby pumpkin patch and pick up a few of these winter squash to take home. You can use them to decorate your apartment, carve them and make jack o’lanterns, or cook up the seeds and use the flesh to make some tasty treats! Favorite local pumpkin patches include Bartels Farm and Something From The Farm, both of which offer pick-them-yourself pumpkins.
Head To A Haunted Corn Maze
Haunted corn mazes, or even non-haunted corn mazes, are a great way to spend some time away from your Fort Collins apartment. Put on some good shoes so you don’t accidentally trip and head to one of the many local corn mazes in the area. Try Jack Lanterns Corn Maze here in town (we’ll warn you, after dark they change their name to “Jack Lanterns Corn Maze Of Carnage…. spooky!), or the Haunted Field Of Screams in Thornton.
Hear The Bugling Elk In Estes Park
Just a short drive into the mountains, Estes Park is a top tourist destination in Colorado, especially during rutting season when the local male elk vie for the affection of females by sending off loud mating calls. The elk mating calls, called bugling, moves hauntingly through the park starting with a high-pitched cry and ending with a low grunting sound.
