Living in an apartment is a great option for college students, graduates, families, and professionals alike. When you choose to live in a Fort Collins apartment complex like Stone Creek, you will quickly realize that an apartment unit can feel a lot like home. Whether you’re already living at Stone Creek or you’re considering moving to our Fort Collins apartments, we’ve compiled a list of “apartment dos and don’ts” to help you enjoy your time at our apartment complex.
Apartment Dos and Don’ts
Do: Make your apartment feel like home.
Sure, you may “just be renting,” but it’s still your apartment unit! Make it feel like home. Utilize apartment-friendly decor like rugs, shelves with figurines and books you love, posters and pictures hung with paint-friendly products, lamps, bedding, throw pillows, and more! Whatever makes your space feel unique, do it (within the terms of your lease — sorry, we have to say it just in case “unique” means ripping up the flooring or painting the wall).
P.S.: If your furry friend is what makes you feel at home, you’ll be happy to know that Stone Creek Apartment Homes are a pet-friendly apartment complex in Fort Collins!
Don’t: Be “that” neighbor.
Apartment living comes with its pros and cons. By “that” neighbor, we mean be reasonably quiet if you come home late at night, don’t blast your music 24/7, and make sure to pick up after your dog. There are a few things that can cause you to be “that” neighbor, but in general, it comes down to respecting the fact that you share walls, floors, and ceilings with other tenants.
Do: Tell us about any pets you have.
Like we mentioned, we are happy to welcome your furry friends to our apartment units! However, we do have a few breed restrictions and we do require that you get approval before bringing a furbaby home. Make sure to check in with our front office if you’re planning on getting a pet, or if you’re moving into Stone Creek with a pet.
Don’t: DIY maintenance repairs.
We have a maintenance team available to you 24/7, so there’s no reason you need to attempt to fix anything yourself, and in fact, we’d prefer if you didn’t. Our on-site maintenance staff is familiar with the ins and outs of all of our apartment units and can quickly diagnose and fix problems that occur. If you’re experiencing an after-hours maintenance emergency, make sure to call our after-hours line (and if applicable, call 911 of course).
Do: Utilize all of the great amenities we have.
Stone Creek has a ton of amazing amenities that make us one of the top apartment complexes in Fort Collins. This includes, to name just a few, a heated saltwater pool, a fitness center, on-site laundry facility, complimentary tanning bed, outdoor barbecues and picnic areas, and that on-site maintenance team that we mentioned. And those are just some of the community amenities! In your apartment, you’ll enjoy private balconies or patios, a breakfast bar, refrigerator and dishwasher, garbage disposal, central air and heating, plenty of storage space, ceiling fans, double sinks in the bathroom, wood-burning fireplaces, and amazing mountain views if your unit allows it. Take advantage of all that Stone Creek has to offer when you move into our apartment complex in Fort Collins.
Don’t: Lock yourself out of your apartment.
We’ll first say, if you do lock yourself out of your apartment, you can call our maintenance line or after-hours emergency maintenance line to let you back in. However, it’s just easier to not lock yourself out in the first place. Create a good routine of locking your apartment behind you so you know you always have your key when you come back.
