Do you have plans for spring break? Many college students living in our apartments near CSU will be traveling to warmer locations or visiting their family over spring break. However, many will simply stay in Fort Collins. Spring break trips are fun, but they are also expensive and not in many college students’ budgets. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have plenty of fun right here in the Fort! In today’s blog, Stone Creek Apartment Homes will be offering up some fun ways to spend your time in Fort Collins over spring break.
Do Some Spring Cleaning
We know this isn’t your ideal way to spend spring break while you’re friends are soaking up the sun in Cabo, but this is a great time to get some real work done without worrying about your classes. Take an afternoon to deep clean your apartment, clean out your closet, and organize your room. Your future self will thank you! If you really want to make a change, this is a great time to rearrange your bedroom furniture and treat yourself to new sheets or a spring-themed comforter.
Celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day
Saint Patrick’s Day conveniently takes place on the first Sunday of CSU’s spring break this year. That means, if you’re of drinking age, you can celebrate this beer-based holiday without having to make it to your 8 a.m. class the following Monday!
Fort Collins always has a lot going on for Saint Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately, Fort Collins’ annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is canceled this year, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be anything fun to do. On Saturday, you can celebrate at the Old Town Irish Party in Old Town Square where you can enjoy live music, a green beer garden, and some tasty food! You can also hit up the Shamrock Festival on Oak Street on the same day where you can immerse yourself in traditional Irish culture and music. On Sunday, you can participate in the annual Sharin’ O’ the Green 5k and then head to Old Town Fort Collins to enjoy themed food and drinks at various restaurants and bars.
See A Matinee Movie
For those with busy schedules, going to the movies is typically reserved for Friday and Saturday nights. Use your spring break to benefit from cheap matinee movie prices to see everything you’ve been dying to watch. Around spring break will be a great time to watch Captain Marvel on the XD screen at the Cinemark Movie Bistro!
Take A Weekend Trip On A Weekday
Weekend trips are great for when you want to spend a night or two in a destination. However, they are hard to do when you have class or work Monday through Friday. Spring break is the ideal time to take a mini vacation to a destination in our beautiful state. If you love the mountains, you can spend a few days in Breckenridge, Aspen, or Telluride, or head to a bigger city like Denver or Colorado Springs to do some fun shopping.
